3 Months Old

Wow has Savannah grown. It*s scary how fast. She now smiles a lot and recognizes Robert and I. She "talks" to us when we make noises. She is drinking 4.5 ounces in a bottle and is growing so well. She has already grown into 3 month clothes and is getting too long for 0-3 month sleeps, which I had like a million of. Now I*m actually going to have to buy some 3-6 month sleepers. She is no longer sleeping in a swaddle, she is in a sleep sack. She likes to kick a lot and move around. She also is finally sleeping in her crib at night. I have finally moved her from the bassinet, which was tough not having her beside me all through the night. She also sleeps on her side, so I have a feeling she is going to be rolling over soon. That makes me nervous. She now likes to play with some of her toys. She especially likes toys that feel different. I bought Savannah a brown bear with a blanket attached and she loves it! It goes with us everywhere and she holds on to it with a tight grip. I*m really looking forward to see how much Savannah grows throughout the next month.

Happy New Year

Avery and Savannah playing on New Year*s Eve

This past week has been filled with sickness and relaxation. It seems like everyone in both of our families got sick except for Savannah and I. This leads me to think we were the carriers. On Friday we went to the Hall*s to ring in the New Year. This was Savannah*s first over night trip. She did so well and we stuck with her bed time routine. We can*t wait to see what 2011 will bring to our family. I can*t wait!

Merry Christmas

Wow, did Savannah ever rack up at Christmas. Thursday night was spent with Robert*s dad and sister. Savannah took her first trip to the lake and got her first life jacket for Christmas. On Christmas Eve, Diane came down to stay the night and we went to the Christmas Eve service at church. Savannah decided to make herself known and I had to take her into the hallway until the service was over. On Christmas morning, I set out Savannah*s things like Santa had come. I thought it was really cute! Robert cooked us breakfast and then we opened gifts. Savannah*s gift to me was a lot of poop. I think she was sick. After Diane left, we went to my parents and opened gifts. Savannah got her first baby doll. It*s bigger than her. We then went to my family*s Christmas and had lunch. Savannah slept most of the time. Then we went to Robert*s family Christmas. Savannah played with her cousins and met her Aunt Patsy and Uncle Lindsay. While we were there, it began to snow so we had to head out early. We saw a dear run across the road on the way home, but made it home safely! Savannah had a wonderful Christmas!

Savannah and Great Aunt Betty
Savannah and Aunt Pat
Savannah and Cameron

I ended up having a snow day to begin the week. It was great! Savannah and I were so lazy all day. We played, ate and slept. On Sunday, Savannah met a whole new set of family. We went to our traditional Christmas celebration in Siler City and Ramseur to visit my great aunts. At Aunt Lindy*s, Savannah met my aunt Pat and Uncle Larry. They gave Savannah a KOA bear and a bear that plays music to Savannah for Christmas. The music bear came in handy on the way home. Savannah also met her cousin Cameron. He was the only person who could hold her without crying. She was a little over stimulated and VERY cranky. She did get some really cute clothes, a brag book and a glow worm seahourse from the family. She is one lucky girl. Dad and I took Savannah on one of our traditional walks at Aunt Lindy*s farm. I always enjoy this time talking with my dad and now Savannah is a part of the tradition. We left there and went to visit my great aunt Betty. She loved Savannah! At 82 years old, she was on the floor playing and Savannah was so happy. Way less stimulation. I sat in my great uncle Burtis*s favorite spots in front of the wood stove. My spot! Aunt Betty also gave Savannah a little kitten that says bedtime prayers. Savannah loved it! This week Savannah stayed with Mrs. Debbie. I*m so lucky to have a back up baby sitter that is SO awesome! I can*t wait for Christmas this weekend!

Robert and I on our way to his Christmas party.

Savannah did really well after her shots. She had a tough time at the doctor, but she was great the day after. Robert and I went to his work Christmas party, so mom and dad baby sat for us. We had a great time out at the Westin in downtown Charlotte. We ate lobster and spent time with Megan, who is due in January. I can*t wait to meet Brooklyn. I know Brian and Megan are excited too. We also took our family picture for our Christmas card this year. This is the first time we*ve ever done a picture Christmas card and I can*t wait to send them out. Savannah went to see Savannah this week. She did so well in line waiting, but when it was her time up, she threw up and started screaming. I got her calm and put her paci in, Santa thought he should take the paci out, BIG mistake. We did get a good picture though!

2 Months Old

Playing at Grandma Hicks House

At two months old, Savannah is really growing. She gained two pounds and is now 10 pounds, she also grew and inch and is now 23 inches long. She is making growth in all areas and is doing well! After Thanksgiving, I went back to work. It was really tough, but Savannah is in good hands with my mom and Mrs. Debbie. I also was able to celebrate because I finally achieved National Board Certification. Savannah is beginning to sleep in her crib for naps, not through the night, but we are working our way there. Savannah took her first trip out of town to Grandma Hicks house in Winston Salem. Savannah did well on her trip there and had a good time playing at Diane*s house.

Happy Thanksgiving

Spending time with my great grandma.
Savannah*s First Thanksgiving

Savannah*s first Thanksgiving was good and bad. Robert was sick and wasn*t able to come to my families lunch. Even though he couldn*t make it, we still had an awesome time. My grandma couldn*t get enough of Savannah. She held her most of the day. That evening we went to eat with Diane and Marie at Cracker Barrel. Savannah was so good and she had a good time.
