Santa Clause

Tuesday night we took Savannah to see Santa Clause.  We were told by EVERYONE she wouldn*t like him, they were all RIGHT.  Santa walked up and started to talk to Savannah and she tightened her grip on me.  As we walked close to put her on his lap, she started to cry.  I even tried to hold her with Santa and she was not happy.  Thankfully Bass Pro Shops gave us two pictures.  It was an experience and memories!!!!!

To Grandpa*s House We Go

This was Robert's tricycle
Pointing at all of the barking dogs :)
Last weekend, Savannah had her first overnight trip without mommy and daddy at her grandpa Hicks house.  She had a blast and so did grandpa!  Robert and I went to Raleigh for the NC State football game and to spend time with friends.  Harry had toys and food ready for Savannah.  She LOVED his toys!  She played non stop and ate non stop too. :)  Harry said the only thing he would change about her is to slow her down.  She never stops.  I have to say though, I truly missed my baby girl SOOOOOO much!  I realize how much she is my world!

Renaissance Festival

Last Sunday our family went with the Hall*s to the Carolina Renaissance Festival.  Savannah seemed to have a good time.  I think the festival was a little over her head.  We sure had fun with the Hall*s though.  At the Tortuga Twins show, Savannah wanted to play with the leaves.  We rode the Swan Ride, partly because it was the only free ride.  Savannah seemed to enjoy that ride.  We went to the jousting tournament and Savannah got really scared when the horses rode out angrily.  To end the trip we rode some type of bird ride.  Savannah was ready to crash and I was about to throw up.  All in all, I think this was our last trip for a while to the Renaissance Festival.

Savannah*s second annual Christmas Show - 13 months old
Savannah*s first Christmas Show - 1 month old
Friday, I had the day off for Veteran's Day.  I went to the Southern Christmas Show with Krysten, Ashlea and Savannah.  It was Savannah's second time to the show.  I think i*m going to start something every year with her.  This year I bought her an ornament to start doing every year.  She was so well behaved the entire time.  I bought a couple of things for Savannah and grandma*s Christmas presents.  Savannah ended up passing out by the end of the Christmas show.

Happy Halloween

Halloween with Great Grandma and Papa Bigby

Trunk or Treating
Savannah*s Loot
Halloween was sooo much fun!  Savannah was a ladybug.  She was absolutely adorable!  We started our night off at my grandma and papa*s house.  Savannah dug into the candy bowl and took candy out and then put it back in.  Papa even got on the floor with her and played, it was sooo sweet!  Cody came around the corner in his old man costume and she screamed and started crying.  It was actually quite funny.  Halloween night we went to our church's pumpkin ball.  Our friend Jacob gave her a sucker and Savannah didn*t want to let go of it all night.  Her favorite thing to do all night was to run around holding her sucker.  She played one game where you pick up a pumpkin and look at the number for a prize.  She won a hand slapper, but still wanted the sucker.  After running around for a while, we went to trunk or treat.  Savannah enjoyed getting candy in her basket and almost put her sucker down, but then changed her mind.  Robert is very happy about the amount of candy Savannah got!  Overall, Savannah had a wonderful time trick or treating!

One Year Pictures

our second family picture

happy halloween from savannah

she looks soooo big here!
Saturday we went to have our family pictures taken.  I*ve had pictures of Savannah taken every month since she was born and these were the last set, until she turns 18  months old. :)  We had to cancel last week because of the big bump on her noggin and the line where she hit the desk.  This week our big issue was teeth.  She was cranky and her teeth hurt and she DID NOT want to cooperate.  We got some good shots, but she choose not to smile in most of them.  Robert was a little frazzled too.  Savannah*s uncooperativeness brought back bad memories of having pictures made when he was younger, according to him.  Overall, I think we got some great pictures.  Luckily, he will not have to go with us at her 18 month pictures. :)

Pumpkin Patch

She*s so cute!
I found my pumpkin!
It has no stem.
Mommy and Savannah
Daddy found the perfect pumpkin
Savannah wanted to throw it
Savannah and a pumpkin
running through the corn maze
following daddy the right way
on the hayride
Today we took Savannah to her first pumpkin patch.  We started out checking out all of the farm animals.  We made it to the pumpkins and the first one Savannah picked out didn*t have a stem, so Robert went on the hunt for a better pumpkin.  After giving it to Savannah, he didn*t like it so went to look for even more.  Finally, he found the perfect pumpkin for his girl and all she wanted to do was throw it.  Her new thing to do with everything.  Then we went into the corn maze.  Savannah enjoyed running around everywhere and following Robert through the maze.  Our last thing was the hayride.  Not very fun for $10, but it was another first for Savannah.  She wasn*t as thrilled either.  She was starting to shut down because she didn*t have an afternoon nap.  Overall though, are trip was successful because Savannah got her own pumpkin.  Now, i*m going to buy some toddler friendly paint, per Robert and let Savannah paint her pumpkin.  Pictures to come!

One Year Check Up

Savannah had her one year doctor apt. on Thursday.  She is still perfect, surprise, surprise.  She weighs 20 pounds, gaining a pound from her last apt. and 30 inches long, gaining 5 inches from her last apt.  She had four shots, SCARY!!  She got her flu shot, MMR and 2 others.  I can*t remember what they were.  She screamed and whimpered for a few minutes, but overall, she*s been wonderful.  You would never know she had them.  She*s been a trooper this week.  She ran into a desk Wednesday at the sitter*s house and had a big goose egg above her eye, four shots and then Friday she fell down on the concrete playing at our house and scraped her knee.  I know, these are only the first of many injuries!

Happy Birthday!

Birthday Princess
Savannah had an amazing birthday with friends and family.  I had a friend from work make her birthday dress.  It*s purple with her initials and a butterfly, the theme of her party.  All Savannah wanted to do at the party was walk.  She loves to walk/run all day long.  Don*t try to confine her!  She received a ton of presents, clothes and toys!  After opening gifts, she dove into her smash cake.  Robert*s Aunt Patsy made Savannah*s cakes.  Savannah*s cake was all strawberry and the big birthday cake was a double layer of strawberry and chocolate with icing separating them.  I hope your mouth is watering, because it was amazing!  Savannah ate a quarter of her cake and only stopped because we took the cake away.  You*ll love the pictures!  After saying good bye to all of the friends and family, we went to dinner with Whitney and Brian and their kids.  It seems like a tradition we are beginning, go eat Mexican after birthday parties.  We*ve done it for all three kids birthdays this year. :)  We also had a mini birthday party on Savannah*s birthday.  Our friends came over and Savannah played with her friends on her birthday.  She had so much fun.  She didn*t want to anything to do with cake on her birthday.  I think she was caked out after her birthday party.  She has LOVED every gift and Robert and I are so thankful to have wonderful friends and family to share our family with!
