Sorry, I haven*t updated in a while. Last week was busy getting mom better and this week has just been busy. Robert and I went last Friday to see our baby for the first time. The baby waved at us and was rolling all around. Robert said the baby got his dance moves. All he could do was smile the whole time. The heartbeat was 175 beats per minute. We were also off one day with the due date. According to the ultrasound, the baby will be due on October 9, 2010. I have been feeling better and now enjoy eating again.

8 weeks

My mother-in-law gave us the Noah*s Ark book ends for our first baby gift. The Big Bird was a gift to Robert when he was a baby from his grandmother and grandfather Hicks.
This week was a little better. I*ve started not wanting to eat at night, but at least Robert has dinner. I went to the doctor Friday and so far, everything looks good. We go Friday for our first ultrasound and hopefully to hear the heartbeat. This week:
Your new resident is nearly an inch long — about the size of a grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. She's starting to look more and more human. Her essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through plenty of fine-tuning in the coming months. Other changes abound: Your baby's heart finishes dividing into four chambers, and the valves start to form — as do her tiny teeth. The embryonic "tail" is completely gone. Your baby's organs, muscles, and nerves are kicking into gear. The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks. Her eyes are fully formed, but her eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks. She has tiny earlobes, and her mouth, nose, and nostrils are more distinct. The placenta is developed enough now to take over most of the critical job of producing hormones. Now that your baby's basic physiology is in place, she's poised for rapid weight gain.
